A Note from the Filmmaker
"I attended Harand Camp back in the mid-1960s, and the experience of that place has stayed with me my entire life. It has been so hard to articulate in words, because more than anything, Harand Camp is a feeling.
I attended a 50th-year reunion where I saw hundreds of people, of all ages, 20s through 60s, who still loved camp and what it meant in their lives, and I thought: what an interesting subject for a documentary.
What drove me forward was the absolute conviction that I needed to make this film — that in some way, Harand Camp has supported me my entire adult life in everything I have ever done.
True to form, the Harand family took me back into their lives and hearts completely and unconditionally. Once again, they gave me a belief in myself. That's what they always did."
